Maya D. Song is Senior Counsel to the Deputy Attorney General of the United States, where she advises Justice Department leadership on enforcement and policy matters relating to cybercrime, cybersecurity, and emerging technology. She works with senior Justice Department officials and interagency partners on responding to state-sponsored and criminal cyber incidents. Previously, Maya spent over a decade at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, where she started as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Cybercrime Unit and rose to Chief of the Cybercrime Unit, followed by Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division. Before joining the Justice Department, Maya spent several years as a litigation associate at two prominent D.C. law firms and clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School and New York University.
