Andrea Ramos is the Director of Operations at the Institute for Security and Technology (IST). Since the onset of her career as a middle school teacher via Teach For America, she’s sought roles where she can simply do good things. With a background in public engagement, campaigning, and project management, Andrea is a people and operations guru at heart. At IST, Andrea collaborates cross-functionally to ensure optimal workflows for IST’s administrative, financial, and general operating functions. 

Andrea has a track record of working with diverse teams of various sizes – from in-person headquarters to fully remote teams operating nationwide. With this background, she strives to cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels to deliver successful outcomes. With expertise in project management, policy analysis, and financial operations, she’s passionate about creating collaborative environments where  operational goals are achieved through teamwork and strategic alignment. Outside of work, Andrea is passionate about her various book clubs and traveling internationally whenever she can. She lives in Maryland with her husband and their many plants.
