Gabrielle Tran is a Policy Analyst for Technology and Society at the Institute for Security and Technology (IST), where she supports the Digital Cognition and Democracy Initiative via the study of generative AI’s effects on reasoning, trust, and human relationships.
Prior to IST, Gabrielle completed her fellowship at the Effective Institutions Project where she supported the team’s efforts on national catastrophic risk prevention and internal governance at top AI labs. Following this, she was an affiliate policy researcher at AIGS Canada, where she co-authored the organization’s white paper advising immediate regulatory steps for lawmakers to effectively reflect the interests of civil society. She was also selected to attend the open student workshop at the University of Oxford’s Global Priorities Institute.
Gabrielle holds an MSc in Economic Psychology from the London School of Economics and a BBA in International Business from the Schulich School of Business. She also completed a Masters in Management term abroad at HEC Paris.
