Victor Ye is the Communications Intern at the Institute for Security and Technology (IST), where he supports strategy for all external-facing written assets across media channels. He is currently a Master’s of Studies in Law candidate, specializing in Business Law and Media & Entertainment Law. He is also simultaneously pursuing a Bachelor’s in Communication at the University of Southern California as a four year accelerated joint degree program.
Previously, he has served as an International Affairs Fellow for the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and conducted investigative analysis on the judicial use of OSINT as evidence against demonstrators in protest movements through interviews with national security officials and policy experts.
Prior to CSIS, Victor served as a Tech Fellow with the Aspen Institute, where he researched the nuanced effects of AI deepfake technology on social media with voter behavior in the 2024 US presidential election. In the role, he has also collaborated with major technology companies as part of the Tech Accountability Coalition on developing key frameworks on equitable and inclusive technology product placements.
Victor is the Co-Founder of UnTextbooked, an Ambies Awards nominated storytelling platform promoting intergenerational dialogue through in-depth interviews with figures on complex social issues. Along with his tenure as the Head of Partnerships in the World Economic Forum Global Shapers Los Angeles Hub, he is a Youth Delegate at the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. Through his work, he has been recognized as a Global Teen Leader, Ashoka Young Changemaker, Bezos Scholar, and Princess Diana Awardee in Humanitarianism. Victor is an advocate of establishing guardrails for emerging technologies to foster a more inclusive and democratic society.
