Rachel Gillum

Vice President of Ethical & Humane Use of Technology, Salesforce

Dr. Rachel Gillum is Vice President of Ethical & Humane Use of Technology at Salesforce, leading the team responsible for developing and implementing AI and responsible product use policies across Salesforce’s suite of offerings. Rachel was appointed as a Commissioner on the bipartisan AI Commission on Competition, Inclusion, and Innovation by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, tasked with developing AI policy solutions for the United States in collaboration with leaders from government, industry, and civil society. Rachel is an affiliated scholar at Stanford University and author of several academic works. She is a nonresident fellow of the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab and a term member with the Council on Foreign Relations.

Rachel previously worked alongside former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley and former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates at the strategic consulting firm RiceHadleyGatesManuel LLC, where she led the firm’s portfolio of technology and venture capital companies as Senior Director of the Silicon Valley Office. Her global perspective is shaped by her tenure in intelligence and security roles within the U.S. government. Rachel received her PhD and MA degrees from Stanford University.
