Announcing New Members of the Cyber Policy Awards™ Organizing Committee

October 1, 2025

The Institute for Security and Technology is pleased to announce the addition of three new members to the Cyber Policy Awards organizing committee in preparation for the upcoming third annual event.

In preparation for the upcoming Third Annual Cyber Policy Awards™—to be held on the evening of Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Washington, D.C.—the Institute for Security and Technology (IST) is pleased to announce new additions to the event’s organizing committee, whose duties include defining the award categories and criteria, selecting judges, advising on the entertainment elements, and serving as brand ambassadors.

Anjelica Dortch, Vice President for Operational Risk at the Independent Community Bankers of America, represents the association and champions its policy positions on cybersecurity, AI, and operational risk-related legislation and regulations. Anjelica previously held positions at SAP and IBM, and early in her career, spent a decade in U.S. federal service with various agencies, including the Executive Office of the President, where she served as a senior technology advisor in the Trump and Obama administrations.

Alison King, Vice President of Government Affairs at Forescout Technologies, is a Senior Fellow at Auburn University’s McCrary Institute for Cyber and Critical Infrastructure Security and a Member of the Board of Advisors at the Technology Advancement Center (TAC) in Columbia, Maryland.

Shane Tews, President of Logan Circle Strategies, also serves as a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and was previously Vice President for Global Public Policy at Verisign.

These new members join the organizing committee’s standing members: Steve Kelly (chair) and Megan Stifel from the Institute for Security and Technology; Ari Schwartz and Bri Law from the Center for Cybersecurity Policy and Law; Michael Daniel and Jeannette Jarvis from the Cyber Threat Alliance; Chris Painter from The Cyber Policy Group; Vince Voci from Cloudflare; Iranga Kahangama; and Meredith Burkart from Halcyon.

IST and the organizing committee extend deep appreciation to departing organizing committee members Kemba Walden from the Paladin Global Institute and Andy Ozment for their outstanding contributions in establishing the Cyber Policy Awards.

Nominations will soon open for the Third Annual Cyber Policy Awards™. Anyone may nominate award recipients, but neither IST nor the organizing committee members select the award finalists and recipients; this duty is fulfilled by an independent panel of august judges.
