Unlike most cyber-related events, our center of gravity is zeroed in on National Security & Public Safety / Human Life.
Hosts: Presented by ICS Village, in partnership with the Institute for Security and Technology’s UnDisruptable27 project and Akin.
Venue: Akin DC, 2001 K Street NW, Washington DC, 20006
Call for Proposals
DEADLINE EXTENDED! From now until April 11, 2026, submit your proposals to present at Critical Effect DC!
With under 365 days until 2027, we’ll prioritize content which marshals appropriate candor & urgency, ideally related to initiatives or solutions that can be completed within the next 6-18 months. We are chiefly concerned with solutions for disruptions to lifeline critical functions – especially less resourced Target Rich, Cyber Poor (the Not Haves). We’re especially interested in promoting cross-sector talks (i.e. not just water, but how does water disruption affect healthcare, etc) and emergency management involvement. CFP reviews will favor: active over passive, pragmatic over idealistic, resolve over defeatism, prototypes over perfection, partial ideas over stale ideas, creativity over conformity, experimentation over dogma, sometimes engineering-down consequence over cybering-up, public goods over private goods, and given the coming “typhoons”… resilience over security.
