Dear Fellow Protectors,
As 2025 draws to a close, we on the UnDisruptable27 team are in a reflective mood. It’s been quite the year for the project as we’ve moved out of our exploratory research, and, thanks to the generosity of Craig Newmark Philanthropies, embarked on our next phase of hands-on work with communities.
We’ve learned a lot, not least from you all – our partners, collaborators, and co-creators. We’ve lasered in on the nexus of healthcare delivery and its reliance on water systems that are being targeted by the Chinese military. We’ve refined our plan to help communities engineer down consequences rather than cybering up in the face of foreign armies. We are ready to roll up our sleeves with a dozen communities across the country. Please get in touch with UnDisruptable27 (at) securityandtechnology.org to nominate communities (and particularly hospitals) for us to talk to!
Even in this turbulent year, one thing that hasn’t changed is the urgency of our work. We are still too dependent on undependable technology. Adversaries still seek to hold us at risk. And 2027 is just around the corner. At the time of this posting 2027 is a mere 380 Days away!
But we know that, together, we can lift up our fellow citizens. At a time when institutions are on shaky footing, it’s community that will see us through. We are grateful to each and every one of you for being in this fight with us.
Going forward, we’ll be sending around a monthly update with notes on what we’ve been up to. We welcome your feedback! And, if you haven’t yet, please join us on Slack and check our website, where you can learn all about Operation: FrostyVolt25…
Happy Holidays!
