Larissa Alves Lozano is the Operations Assistant for the nuclear portfolio at the Institute for Security and Technology, where she supports business operations and administration for projects on nuclear crisis communication, artificial intelligence’s integration with nuclear weapons, and emerging technologies. Prior to joining IST, Larissa was a writer and editor for the Georgia Political Review, interned at Sandia National Laboratories, and worked as a research assistant at the Benson-Berstch Center for International Trade and Security under grants from Savannah River and Pacific Northwest National Laboratories. She also publishes articles as a technology analyst at the Bloomsbury Intelligence and Security Institute and is an active member of the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management (INMM) Southeast Chapter.
Larissa holds a BA in International Affairs and Security and a Master’s in International Policy focusing on nonproliferation from the University of Georgia. She was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and is fluent in Portuguese and proficient in German, Spanish, and French.
