Mike McNerney is Chair and Co-founder of the Institute for Security and Technology (IST).

A technology entrepreneur and military veteran, Mike focuses on cybersecurity at the intersection of national security and private sector innovation. He currently serves as President of Anitian and Chief Compliance Officer at Arkenstone Defense. His previous industry leadership includes roles as SVP of Security at Resilience, Co-founder & CEO of Efflux Systems, and lead product manager for threat intelligence at Arbor Networks.

In government, Mike served as Cyber Policy Advisor in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, as a Foreign Affairs Officer at the U.S. State Department, and as a US Air Force officer. He is an affiliate at the Stanford Center for International Security and Cooperation and serves on the Board of Directors for VetsinTech.

Mike earned his B.A. from the University of California, Davis, and his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law.
