Michael Ziemke is an international affairs expert with 15+ years of experience in the U.S. government focusing on NATO, European security, and U.S.-Russia relations. He has been awarded seven Superior Honor Awards and a Recognition of Appreciation from the Secretary of State for work on NATO missile defense, the international effort to remove and destroy Syrian chemical weapons, Russia’s violation of the INF Treaty, U.S.-Russia Strategic Stability Dialogues, and the extension of New START. Michael currently works in the Joint Staff/J5 Strategic Stability Division on strategic deterrence and nuclear policy. Michael earned a Master’s degree from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University.
