Yanitsa Dyakova-Gyimesi is a member of the inaugural cohort of the Andrew Carnegie AI-Nuclear Policy Accelerator

Yanitsa Dyakova-Gyimesi joined the Nuclear Policy Directorate at NATO HQ in April 2021 as Policy Officer. She serves as the committee secretary to the Nuclear Planning Group (NPG) Staff Group and supports the meetings of NPG Defence Ministers. Her work focuses on the role of strategic communications for nuclear deterrence, amongst other topics.

Her previous assignments include working as Policy Officer on resilience and civil preparedness at NATO HQ (2018–2020), traineeship positions at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris (2017), EULEX Kosovo (2016), the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2016), and the British Embassy in Sofia (2016). Yanitsa holds a Master’s degree in International Security from Sciences Po Paris, France, and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations with Political Science from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom.
