“There is no single solution to this set of challenges: this is an international cybersecurity crisis that demands that countries and companies work closely together on a range of historically difficult tasks. The combination of the actions needing sustained attention compound the challenge in blunting the trajectory of these attacks. Ransomware has become too large of a threat for any one entity to address, and the scale and magnitude of this challenge urgently demands coordinated global action.”
On July 20, 2021, Institute for Security and Technology CEO Philip Reiner testified in front of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations of the Committee on Energy and Commerce. His testimony focused on the recommendations of the Ransomware Task Force, calling on Congress to take immediate action to tackle the scourge of ransomware and the threat it poses to our critical infrastructure and our national security.
