IST Announces Latest Additions

IST is energized and excited to announce a slate of talented new additions to our Board of Directors, our Team, and our slate of Adjunct Advisors as we continue to expand our capacity and reach.

We’re honored to grow our Board of Directors with two excellent new voices. Katherine Johnson joins from Storj, where she is the Chief People, Legal, & Compliance Officer. Her deep expertise includes data privacy and security, anti-corruption and global financial crimes compliance, and organizational ethics.

“It will be an honor to support such outstanding leaders who are doing the critical work of staying ahead of global threats,” said Johnson.

Eli Sugarman joins from The Oversight Board, where he is Vice President for Content (Moderation). His work at the nexus of technology, philanthropy, security, and public policy is a natural fit for IST. Our board members serve on a voluntary, pro bono basis.

“I’m excited to join the IST Board and support its impactful and innovative work on emerging technology and national security issues,” said Sugarman.

On our core staff, Emma Hollingsworth joins us as our new Deputy Director for Strategy and Partnerships. Most recently at the Global Cyber Alliance, Emma will increase our capacity to engage with partners and networks, ultimately lifting the impact and reach of all our work. We are also thrilled to bring Nicole Mays into a full-time role with IST, where she will continue to support our leadership and keep all the wheels turning.

“I am delighted to join IST’s mission to solve emerging security threats by creating a bridge between technology and policy leaders,” said Hollingsworth. “Working with our partners and stewarding new relationships is instrumental to achieving success—I look forward to working across the community.”

Marc Rogers joins IST as a Senior Technical Advisor, bringing his powerful and unique wealth of experience in cybersecurity to our overall mission. He is Vice President of Cybersecurity Strategy at Okta and the founder of CTI League, the first open, global volunteer cyber emergency response community for healthcare organizations.

Longtime IST experts are making moves, too. We are proud to announce the promotions of Alexa Wehsener to Deputy Director for Defense Strategy and Partnerships and Leah Walker to Senior Defense Associate. It’s a privilege to work with such talented professionals, and these promotions reflect their contributions.
