Gregory Slovak is a member of the inaugural cohort of the Andrew Carnegie AI-Nuclear Policy Accelerator.
Gregory Slovak is a Staff Officer at the U.S. Department of State’s National and Nuclear Risk Reduction Center (NNRRC), where he works on issues spanning nuclear arms control, international cyber incidents, chemical weapons, and conventional arms deployments in support of the Center’s risk reduction mission. He is particularly interested in how disruptive technologies shape and impact risk reduction and secure communications.
Prior to joining the NNRRC, Greg served as a Policy Analyst at the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), where he analyzed the national security and foreign policy implications of emerging technologies, including their potential misuse, to develop effective export control policies and responses. Alongside this work, he engaged interagency and international partners to advance export control initiatives, including on human rights concerns, while leading outreach to industry and civil society.
Greg began his career in the international development sector, living and working in India, China, and Taiwan. He holds a Master of Arts in International Relations and is proficient in Mandarin Chinese.
